Shampoo Bars are all the trend and I’m super excited to try one out because I’m fed up with the number of plastic bottles we go through as a family and the amount of liquid shampoo I buy every two weeks. Also, I’m wondering if by using a shampoo bar instead, will there be fewer squirts of conditioner and residue shampoo left on the shower glass to clean??
So here’s the scoop on Shampoo Bars.
A shampoo bar is basically a bar of soap for your hair, except it doesn’t contain half as many harsh detergents as liquid shampoo and most are made of natural ingredients and no chemicals. They are also travel-friendly, eco-friendly and more cost-effective. There are 3 types of bars:
- Cold-pressed shampoo bars (made of natural oils and more conditioning)
- Glycerin based bars (PH balanced, gentle but doesn’t lather)
- Solid surfactant (lots of lather but can strip the hair)
Here are a few to try: Humankind, Ethique, Lush (Godiva) Acure
My hair is very fine and I usually need to conditioner after, so let’s see if that’s the case after the shampoo bar!
