They absorb toxins and give us a feeling of wellbeing..we need them in our homes.
During times of stress, appreciating nature has a very therapeutic effect on us. Plants help to reduce stress and enhance your mood and to top it all off, they look after our atmosphere by producing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide and some filter the air of toxins. The bottom line is we need them and now more than ever, we need them in our homes.
There are a number of plants that remove toxins like benzene, formaldehyde and trichloroethylene from the air. The ones I’ve listed aren’t poisonous to pets.
- Boston Fern
- Spider Plant
- Moth Orchid
- Money plant/tree
- African Violet
- Tradescantia Zebrina
- Wax plant
To get the maximum effect you need to place one of these plants every 10 sq meters/32 feet apart for them to do their job properly.
Having plants in my home always makes me feel calm and happier…maybe it’s because it helps my family breathe in cleaner air.
